Dear Olive Branches,

I realize that this week's Monday Morning
Message is a day late, but can I tell you about our
weekend?  It was very nice.
Gena, Brett, Juli, and I enjoyed a wonderful time
at Lake Ouachita - our usual haunt for both Memorial
Day and Labor Day weekends.  This time, however, we
did some different things.
Friday, while waiting for Brett and Juli to arrive,
Gena and I went for a boat ride to places I had never
been.  After visiting Crystal Springs we found a Baptist
campground on the shores of Lake Ouachita called
Camp Story.  This place is, apparently, owned and
operated by a Baptist church in Jessieville, Arkansas.  It
seems to be a nice place for retreats and such.
Traveling up the Iron Forks River from there we found
"the forks" and investigated both of them.
Saturday brought Jana, Juli's twin sister and
Donna, their mother, to the campsite for a celebration of
the girls' birthday.  We ate entirely too much!
       Sunday we hooked up with
friends from Star City and ended
up at "the world's greatest rope
swing" (according to Brett).  Check
out Brett's Facebook for confirmation
on his assessment.  Said swing is
located way up the Ouachita River
near Big Branch...well past the
Hwy 27 bridge.
Monday was a short day because it was "going
home" day but we did manage enough time to find the
Buckville Church and cemetary.  This old church house
was originally located down in a nearby valley which is
now consumed by the waters of Lake Ouachita.
Bucktown, as the locals call it, is quite interesting.  I will
be going back there...soon.
Meanwhile, enjoy some pics
from Buckville!

Branching Out!
