Our Staff
Pastor:  Dr. Roger W. Stewart
Roger Stewart was born and raised in Fort Smith,
Arkansas, where he attended Central Baptist
Church throughout his entire childhood.  He was
saved and baptized at age nine.  At age
seventeen he announced his call to preach before
graduating from Northside
High School in 1984.
He soon found himself a
student at the Missionary
Baptist Seminary where he
earned a Bachelor of
Theology degree in 1991.
Meanwhile, Brother
Stewart married Gena
Ashlock in 1986 and was ordained to the Gospel
Ministry by Victory Missionary Baptist Church in
Sherwood, Arkansas, later that same year.  God
blessed the Stewart’s with two boys – Brett in 1989
and Hayden in 1991.
After pastoring in Michigan for nine years, Brother
Stewart returned to Southeast Arkansas where he
was afforded the opportunity to complete his
Master of Theology (2006) and Doctor of Theology
(2008) degrees at the Missionary Baptist Seminary.
Travels of our pastor include three trips to the Holy
Land (1994, 1995, 2010); three trips to Mexico (2007,
2009, 2011); one trip to St. Petersburg, Russia (2004),
one trip to Tokyo, Japan (2011), and several trips into
Canada.  Yet another trip to the Holy Land and
Greece is scheduled for March of 2012.
Brother Roger (as we affectionately call him) is our
faithful pastor at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist
Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  He has served ABA
churches in Holly Grove, DeWitt, and Star City,
Arkansas, as well as in Coloma, Michigan.  He is
currently a member of the Standing Missionary
Committee where he serves as Clerk.  Brother
Stewart is Vice President of the Alumni Association
for the Missionary Baptist Seminary and writes the
Manna for the Adult Lesson Commentary produced
by the Baptist Sunday School Committee.  He can

Minister of Music:  Ron M. Bunger
Ron Bunger came to us as our Minister of Music in
November of 2005.  Brother Ron is wonderfully
talented and has an incredible ability to get the
best and the most out of all our choirs.
Brother Ron received his Bachelor's degree from
the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and his
Master’s degree from the University of Central
Arkansas in Conway.  Brother Ron currently serves
as a Clinical Supervisor for the education
department at Henderson State University on a
part-time basis.  Brother Ron taught choirs in
public schools for 35 years before coming to Pine
Bluff.  He and his wife, Donna, live in Glen Rose, AR.

Secretary:  Paula Courtney
Paula Courtney is our very capable church secretary.
Paula joined our staff in May of 2005.  She can do it all and
very often does!  Paula is supported by her husband,
Jimmy, and their children, Ashleah and Ethan.  They are
faithful members of a Baptist church in the Pine Bluff area.
Paula will be happy to help you in any way possible.  She
can be reached at 870.535.1404 or via email at
Paula here at Olive Branch.
Youth Minister in May of 2008.  He and his wife,
Brother Josh is crazy about the young people at
Olive Branch and they are equally crazy about him.
Never has a youth man fit in so well and quickly as
has Brother Josh.  He is a student at the Missionary
Baptist Seminary where he is working toward a
theology degree.  In addition to a heart for the
youth, Josh also has a heart for music and expresses
that with his singing and playing of the piano and
guitar.  You can send Brother Josh a note at
